When Christina Doucette, photographer formerly from Petawawa moved away she called me and asked me if I would be available to shoot a wedding on August 13, 2011. My original response was “I don’t do wedding Christina, but if you’re completely stuck … “ Then I asked where the wedding was to take place and she said “Northfork”. I instantly had all these ideas of what it would be like. I love Northfork and Christina couldn’t be any more RIGHT when she said Rachel and Alex were an awesome couple and it would be the perfect “first wedding” for me. Still, I had a lot to think about. So I told Christina I would get back to her as to whether or not I would be able. In that week I contacted my BFF Missy Hertlein of Captured By Missy in London, ONTARIO. It was a long shot but she’s been saying forever I need to second shoot a wedding with her to get my feet wet. She promptly agreed to travel to Petawawa to shoot the wedding with me. (or really, I should correct … I could shoot the wedding with her).
The day threatened thunderstorms and the sky looked like it might be accurate. From time to time a burst of sun would shine through the clouds and it was just perfect. During the formals there was a rain cloud but it managed to stay far back in the distance and just swept by … far away from where we were
The barn was decorated to perfection with the most beautiful soft hues. Everything from start to finish was perfect.
Rachel and Alex, cheers to a wonderful life together as husband and wife.
Thank you on behalf of Missy and myself for allowing us to capture your perfect beginning.
Had to add this one to the blog because I just love it. I can’t say why really, i just do
