About MDWRIGGS Photography
So many people ask me what the heck is an MDWRIGGS. So, I will give you a small breakdown so you can see how it came to be. Not that it matters, not that you are asking but I need SOMETHING to write in this section and so this is it. M is for Michelle :) Simple enough right? D is for my maiden name *unimportant really* WRIGGS is just a short nickname from my married last name. Those who know me will appreciate the shortened version because its a fun tricky last name to say and spell :) Thats it, there you have it.
I was so excited when I was able to fit in a session for Lisa and Tim. We went to my all time favorite location and had some beautiful yummy light for this perfect maternity session. Miss C is absolutely charming and MORE than thrilled to be a big sister. Not long after our maternity session, Lisa and Tim welcomed baby Liam! And he is absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for allowing me to photograph your new family

I’ve known Heather from the arena for about 4 years now. Her husband Dave was my sons very first hockey coach. “COACH DAVE”. I was MORE than happy when she asked for a few maternity shots since this will possibly (I’m leaving the door open for one more) be her last baby.
I had written this post a few days ago and I’ve since had to change it. I was going to tell you how my fingers were crossed that Heather would be blessed with a baby girl. Why you ask? Simple. That is because Heather already has a boy. In fact, she has not one, but FOUR of them. I was going to tell you that although five boys would be AWESOME, it would also be sweet for Heather to experience having a little girl. Something I will never know.
I’ve had to change my post though because last night (early this morning) Heather gave birth to a toddler. Not a newborn, a toddler. Yes, she did.
In my experience, newborns are generally about 6-9 lbs.
She amazes me.
My own babies were small in comparison to hers. Baby Cam (boy number 5) arrived safely during the night last night.
11 lbs 12 oz.

When I think about it in comparison to my own children it make me shudder a little. I mean, Justin was 5 lbs 2 oz. Luke was 6 lbs 12 oz. Thats DOUBLE Justin (mind you he was born very early) but Baby Cam was almost double Luke!
Good job Heather!!!!!!
So although a baby girl would have been precious, I think a fifth boy is a wonderful blessing!
I’m so excited to meet him. You officially have a full hockey line up. Well, I guess if Owen plays in nets, you might need one more.

That ever single time I book a session the nerves still come over me like crazy! Like, its a little ridiculous. I am officially wrapping up my second year in business and I did a session just this week and I was nervous as all heck leaving my house!
I will say that the first year of business my nerves would start acting up about three days prior to the session. At least this year, I only get nervous the day of a session. Is it good? Maybe it pushes me to do my best. I dunno. I just know that for ONCE I would like to NOT feel so crazy nervous before shooting. I think one reason I get like this is that I’m so unbelievable shy. If you asked anyone who’s ever met me they would likely tell you I am not shy at ALL when in fact, I am SO overwhelmingly shy that I am one to shy away from social situations if its unexpected. I know, I’m a complete lunatic. My friend Nikki invited me over to her house one day and when I realized that she had other company over, I just kept driving. Not because I didn’t want to meet new people or hang out with Nikki. I just needed warning, thats all.
So, if you want to know something that people DON’T know about me, its that when you meet me at a session, it takes ME a good 15 minutes to come out of MY shell. You won’t likely know that though. I’m pretty good at putting my friendly bubbly, happy-go-lucky pro photographer hat on in the car. Its my job to make my clients feel relaxed and happy since any awkwardness will show in pictures. Usually about half way through a session, I’ve relaxed, you’ve relaxed and we’re all good friends But, I just wanted to put it out there that I am SUPER shy and every time I walk into a session, my nerves are SHOT. lol
Just a tid bit I wanted to share. I’m hoping that in my third year of business, I will have gotten over SOME of this anxiety
Moving on . . .
Christmas is coming faster than I thought. Its only two weeks away and although I’m ready for Christmas, I’m also NOT ready for Christmas. I think I just want it to hurry up and get here SO BADLY that when it finally does, I will look around and wonder when the heck it turned into January. Then I will feel those wonderful winter blahs. This blog thing is very therapeutic.
Anywho, had a wonderful maternity session just this past weekend. This is one of my last sneak peeks before the new year.

OH, and I also loved their little dog, TuckerMagoo . . . oh ya! He was cute.
Little “E” is going to be SUCH a good big sister to her new baby brother “J”. She seemed SO excited last night rubbing her moms belly and giving it big hugs and kisses. Here is a peek from last night.
