About MDWRIGGS Photography

So many people ask me what the heck is an MDWRIGGS. So, I will give you a small breakdown so you can see how it came to be. Not that it matters, not that you are asking but I need SOMETHING to write in this section and so this is it. M is for Michelle :) Simple enough right? D is for my maiden name *unimportant really* WRIGGS is just a short nickname from my married last name. Those who know me will appreciate the shortened version because its a fun tricky last name to say and spell :) Thats it, there you have it.

I’m Such a Loser

Sunday, September 26th, 2010

I know, a title that bares my soul.   Seriously.  I don’t know what it is about Toby but that girl can talk me in to just about ANYTHING.  She needs to be stopped. I mean, what the heck will it be next.  The thought of it kind of scares me a little, lol.

Let me tell you about my good friend Toby.  First of all, she’s amazing.  She’s a great friend but aside from that part, she’s also very easy to be around.  Shes like a breath of fresh air.  Just today we were talking about facebook statuses and she said that she likes to always be positive on her facebook statuses because she doesn’t think others want to hear her complain.  Hers are always so enlightening and positive and inspirational.  It made me think back to all my updates.  My Lord I feel bad for my friends.  I’m always complaining about everything from the weather to the boys bickering….to the dog hair taking over my house in small piles.  I mean, seriously.  I need to get a grip.

I first met Toby in 2007 when our boys played in GPMHA IP together.  We didn’t really hang out.  I remember her being around and I also remember her youngest boy always fast asleep in her arms.  I was always wondering how she kept him asleep like that.  A mothers touch :)

I started my photography journey in 2007 and I remember having her over to do some pictures of her and the boys.  When Toby was expecting her daughter she invited me to the hospital to photograph the whole birth experience (minus the actual horrifying for strangers part).  OMG, I totally dragged my feet on the way to the hospital because I was PETRIFIED.  First of all, I barely knew her.  I mean, I knew her from hockey but this was new territory for me.  Anyways, long story short….I was blessed to be a part of the day they welcomed Victoria to their family.  It took me a few days to get over the shock of the experience (just kidding Toby) but I’m over it now and I’m SO happy I did it because it was amazing.  I was there the day they became a family of 5.  It was awesome.

Anyways, this weekend, Toby came to tie up some loose ends in Petawawa.  I don’t know when it was decided or even that it was decided at all (until the last minute) but somehow we ended up doing a session together.  I had two scheduled on Saturday but due to rain they were both postponed.  So I had all my kit in the back of my van and she talked me into shooting a very classy boudoir session.  WHY must Toby always make me blush!

Anyways, it was a great experience and I’d like to think I did a good job :)  I will share a few because I know she won’t mind :)

Enjoy.
